ABPA has reported on the authorization of nine companies exporting pork to Russia.

The Rosselkhoznadzor (Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance) has authorized nine Brazilian companies to export pork to Russia, increasing the number of plants authorized to export to the Russian market from four to thirteen.

The announcement comes days after the mission to Moscow, led by the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, and the statement made by the Russian government on the establishment of a temporary quota of 100,000 tons of pork.

According to ABPA forecasts, considering the current average import price for the Russian market, the established quota may generate exports of more than US$ 200 million.
